Excelsior CorrespondentPoonch, Apr 9: In a significant achievement for the healthcare sector of the Peerpanjal region, the Community Health Centre (CHC) Surankote has been awarded the prestigious bronze quality certification under the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). This milestone marks CHC Surankote as the first CHC in the Peerpanjal region and the second hospital in Poonch district, after Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital (RSSDH) Poonch, to receive this honour.The certification, granted by the National Health Authority (NHA), is the first tier in a three-level quality certification program focused on enhancing patient safety and ensuring high standards of care in empanelled hospitals across the country.
District Development Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal, extended his appreciation to the healthcare team for their dedication and commitment. He congratulated Chief Medical Officer Poonch Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan, Block Medical Officer Surankote Dr.
Mohd Yousf, and District Coordinator Dr. Tanveer along with the entire health team of Surankote for their exemplary efforts in achieving this milestone.This recognition underlines the growing strength and efficiency of government health institutions in far-flung areas, especially under flagship schemes like Ayushman Bharat, aimed at delivering affordable and quality healthcare to all, a statement said.
