Chatra election assembly results 2024: RJD's Rashmi Prakash faces Janardhan Paswan of LJP (Ram Vilas)

Chatra and Simaria are gearing up for a nail-biting vote count on Saturday. Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Gholap has ensured meticulous preparations, including stringent security measures at Chatra College. All eyes are on Chatra, where RJD's Rashmi Prakash, fielded after a controversial community reclassification, faces LJP's Janardan Paswan.

Rashmi Prakash vs Janardhan Paswan NEW DELHI: Vote counting for the Chatra assembly constituency is set to begin on Saturday at Chatra College under tight security. The Chatra constituency saw outgoing MLA Satyanand Bhogta's daughter-in-law, Rashmi Prakash, contest on an RJD ticket from the SC community, following Bhogta community’s reclassification as ST. This decision, which involved Bhogta's son Mukesh marrying an SC woman, has caused discontent within the Bhogta community.

She faces former MLA Janardan Paswan of the LJP-Ramvilas. Also see: Assembly election results live updates Eighteen tables are being used for counting votes from Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and 14 tables for postal ballots in the constituency. The counting process consists of 27 rounds in Chatra with eleven candidates in fray.



Security measures at Chatra College include CCTV surveillance and deployment of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB), and district police. Authorities have prohibited intoxicants and electronic devices, including mobile phones and laptops, inside the counting center.
