OpenAI’s ChatGPT is reportedly more popular than other artificial intelligence (AI) tools by a huge margin. According to date from aitools.xyz , ChatGPT received over 52 times more visitors than Microsoft Copilot did in February 2025.
According to the report, ChatGPT saw 5.2 billion visits worldwide that month, with Copilot seeing only 98.9 million monthly visitors.
Using the same rankings, it shows that ChatGPT holds almost 80 per cent of the total chatbot market share, while Copilot sits in fifth behind DeepSeek and Google’s Gemini. However, Microsoft Copilot is more popular in Canada. ChatGPT still holds the top spot with 143 million monthly visits and roughly 86.

Expanding to all categories of AI tools, Canva supplants DeepSeek in second place with 19.92 million monthly visits in Canada. DeepSeek falls to third, while other tools like search engine Perplexity and writing tools like QuillBot and Grammarly fill out the top 10.
Copilot falls to 11th place. While this seems like a steep hill for Microsoft to climb, the Redmond, Washington-based tech giant stated that, according to a report by Kevin Okemwa, over 70 per cent of Fortune 500 companies use Copilot. Moreover, Microsoft is making inroads outside of business.
Samsung and LG revealed at CES that they will be adding Copilot to certain TV models . Alongside the TV industry, Microsoft also just expanded Copilot Plus AI features to Intel and AMD PCs . Microsoft isn’t giving up on the AI assistant, either.
It recently rolled out an update for Copilot Vision that can view the users’ screen and assist with tasks similarly to sharing a screen on a Teams call.
