OpenAI has introduced a festive new feature in ChatGPT, allowing users to chat with a simulated version of Santa Claus through the app's voice mode. This AI-powered Santa Mode is available across mobile devices, desktop apps, and web browsers throughout the holiday season. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman introduced this mode on X, formerly known as Twitter, he wrote, “video input now rolling out for chatgpt voice mode including screenshare! (and santa mode for a little holiday treat)” Tap the snowflake, chat with Santa.

Santa is rolling out today to everyone across all ChatGPT platforms and is available until the end of the month.

” How To Use ‘Santa Mode’ in ChatGPT In another post, OpenAI noted, “Tap the snowflake, chat with Santa. You can also select the Santa voice in your ChatGPT settings or inside Voice Mode through the voice picker in the upper right corner.” To access Santa's voice in ChatGPT, users can tap the snowflake icon on the home or voice mode screen, or find it in settings until early January.
Santa's voice is available in both advanced and standard voice modes, and users will get a one-time reset of their advanced voice limit for the first Santa chat, even if they've already reached their limit for the day or month. Notably, Santa conversations are temporary and won't be stored in chat history. They won't be used for training and will only be kept for up to 30 days for safety reasons.
