By Evolve Editors Charli XCX seemingly shaded Green Day at a Coachella 2024 afterparty, and the move was so Brat-coded that it couldn’t have gone unnoticed. It would appear that Charli, whose real name is Charlotte Aitchison, wasn’t entirely too happy about the rock band headlining on Saturday night as they made their debut at the music festival. She played the penultimate set before the fan-favorite band brought night 2 of the weekend one to a close.

Just out of her set, the singer posed at an afterparty with her accessories, reflecting her mood. Charli xcx wearing a “Miss Should Be Headliner” sash at her Coachella afterparty! pic.twitter.

com/NVnvIfI5qS Charli XCX made it evident that she is still holding on to Brat Summer by taking a sly dig at Green Day during a Coachella 2025 afterparty. Right off her penultimate set, she attended the gathering at what appeared to be a club and accessorized according to her mood before recapping the moment in a series of Instagram photos. One such snap from the night showed Charli posing next to the DJ, wearing a white mini dress with a silk sash that said, “Miss Shoud He Headliner.

” The image went viral on X (formerly Twitter), sparking an intense debate over who should have headlined the music festival. Several users appeared to agree with Charli’s implication, with one user writing that her set should have concluded the night “after playing for three years and not headlining once.” Another individual pointed out that “an hour set was actually criminal,” claiming that “she needed solid 90 minutes.

” Many more proceeded to call her “iconic.” However, with all the support, Charli XCX also received some criticism as Green Day fans justified the band headlining Coachella 2025. A couple of responses looked back at the band’s performances of their 1995 hit song “Brat,” urging her to acknowledge “the REAL brat.

” A few other comments noted that they respected both artists but would prefer Green Day more: “Green Day > Charlie xcx, and I like both artists.” Originally reported by Nikita Mahato on Reality Tea . Evolve Media is a publisher of leading enthusiast destinations.
