A charity is fundraising for the medical treatment of two cats. Adrian, 18 months, and Suzie, seven, are two furry inhabitants of Kiko’s Cat Cafe in Rye where they await adoption. However, the pair are facing health issues leading to costly vet bills.
People’s Animal Welfare Society, a foster-based cat and dog rescue charity, is attempting to raise funds for their treatment. Adrian, a “calm and loving” feline, was abandoned in Portugal alongside his mum and brother and was brought over to the UK at the age of one. He is currently living in a private foster home while his symptoms are managed awaiting further updates from the vet. Suzie was passed on to the charity as her owner could no longer keep her. She came to the charity malnourished.

Suzie came to the charity malnourished (Image: People's Animal Welfare Scoiety) A spokeswoman for the charity said: “As Suzie's illness has been under investigation for a while, she's had to be isolated from her foster siblings while we were unsure if she was contagious, which has been heartbreaking for us. “However, she enjoys the company of people and is super cuddly.
” So far, the charity has raised £553 for the pair’s vet bills, however the cost of treatment has reached £1,600. The spokeswoman added: “We don't get any funding from the government and rely solely on donations from our supporters, so our bank account doesn't ever stay full very long. “We've received some nice comments from people who are invested in our cats without ever having met them which is really lovely.
“We're so grateful to everyone who's donated so far as it makes a world of difference, no matter the size of the donation.” Donations can be made on the charity’s Just Giving Page, which can be found here..
