"Add to that a fun dog show, live music and much more, all in aid of two great local charities."

Waggy Tails Rescue and Plants & Minds have joined forces to organise the event at Cherry Tree Nursery in Northbourne on Sunday, April 27. The charities came up with the idea at a family fun day last year. They hope this joint event will become an annual fixture to help raise much-needed funds amid rising costs and limited financial support.

Paul Chapman, volunteer fundraising manager from Waggy Tails Rescue, said: "At this time of year, who would not want to visit the Cherry Tree Nursery to get ideas and fantastic plants for their garden. "Add to that a fun dog show, live music and much more, all in aid of two great local charities." Maria Tidy, community liaison officer at Plants and Minds, said: "We are really excited about working with Waggy Tails on this event.

"Both plants and dogs can positively impact our mental health by reducing stress and anxiety and improving mood and emotional wellbeing, so I can’t think of a better collaboration. "As well as the fun dog show, we have lots of other doggy-related stands for you to browse." The event is set to include live music, stalls and a dog show.
