Chappell Roan says all her friends with kids are miserable – is she right? We asked Irish parents tell us the truth

Singer/songwriter Chappell Roan reckons we parents are a bit of a miserable bunch. Speaking on the popular Call Her Daddy podcast, the 27-year-old Pink Pony Club hitmaker told host Alex Cooney on the March 26 episode: “All of my friends who have kids are in hell,” adding, “I have literally not met anyone who is happy, anyone who has light in their eyes, anyone who has slept.” While Roan didn’t intend to spark a debate on parenting, it’s fair to say her remarks struck a bit of a nerve with mums and dads everywhere, and they quickly got on the defensive.
