“Government is working tirelessly to uphold principles of democracy for the common good of a local Malawian. This is the reason my government is strengthening the decentralization programme by raising the Constituency Development Fund from MK100 million to MK200 million for the sake of common Malawian. “I will continue empowering chiefs in the development process by increasing the number of gazetted chiefs.

The Malawi leader then assured chiefs that his government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure construction of tarmac roads in the district among other developments.

He said government is discussing with other development partners on debt repayment mechanisms to ensure progress on development.
