ISLAMABAD - The treasury benches in Thursday’s National Assembly sitting once again faced embarrassment due to lack of required quorum to run the proceedings. With the onset of the proceedings, a lawmaker from opposition benches pointed out quorum in the House. The chair had no option but to adjourn the proceedings as nearly 50 MPs from both sides of the aisle were present in the hall.

The opposition and coalition partner of ruling party [PPP) had time and again expressed concerns over the absence of Ministers and State Ministers during the proceedings of the House. Pakistan Peoples Party [PPP] members had even threatened to walk out from the proceedings, if the concerned ministers will not be absent from the proceedings during the Question-Hour. Deputy Speaker, in the last session, had conveyed to write a letter to Prime Minister over the disinterest of federal cabinet members in the house.
