Chainsaw Man: The Movie Release Date Set for US as Sony Acquires Global Rights

Based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga series of the same name, the animated show revolves around the misadventures of Denji, a penniless teenager who is betrayed and murdered. However, he is soon reborn as a devil-human hybrid, following which he decides to embark on a journey to hunt devils.

8 million views on YouTube.Nevertheless, fans of the acclaimed anime can finally rest assured as Sony Pictures has officially acquired worldwide (excluding Japan) rights for the said film and has confirmed Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc to have an October 2025 release date in the US. Additionally, Sony will also oversee the release of the film in over 80 countries starting from September 24, 2025 (via Crunchyroll).

Meanwhile, TOHO has secured the rights to distribute the feature in Japan and will premiere the film there on September 19, 2025.Tatsuya Yoshihara will helm the Chainsaw Man movie, with Hiroshi Seko serving as the writer. The original voice cast of the series will also reprise their roles in the film, in addition to Reina Ueda, who joins the team as the voice of Reze.
