Celtic's Champions League rivals Club Brugge have been told they have an 'attitude problem' by their OWN boss. Nicky Hayden lashed out at his player and put the accusation at their door after they threw away a two-goal lead at bottom club Beerschot. Brendan Rodgers and his troops welcome the Belgians to Parkhead in their next outing at Europe's top table as they look to back up the excellent win over RB Leipzig and take a giant leap towards the knockout rounds.
Domestically, Celtic defeated Kilmarnock 2-0 at Rugby Park to leapfrog Aberdeen back into top spot on goal difference with the Premiership top two going stride for stride so far with ten wins and one draw - against each other - so far in the league. However, Brugge find themselves six points off the pace in Belgium with Genk leading the way and that has left their manager furious. He claims his side 'shot themselves in the foot' before making claims over the players' attitude.
He said: "We clearly have an attitude problem. We were two goals up and it seemed like it was too easy. We woke up again when they made it 2-2, but it was too late.
"And we shot ourselves in the foot. It's not the first time this season we have taken our foot off the gas pedal. I made it very clear at the break not to take it easy, but that's exactly what they did.
There's a problem with the players' attitude.".
