Celebrity Big Brother has been pulled from its usual 9pm time slot in a major schedule shake-up. Following the announcement that Mickey Rourke has been removed from the show , the show has been pushed back an hour to 10pm. However, this is just for Sunday's show and CBB will be back to its usual slot for Monday's edition.
In a statement from CBB, they confirmed Mickey's removal, saying: "Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour." They confirmed that Mickey’s behaviour and language to Chris during a disagreement in a task was considered to be threatening and aggressive, but added no physical altercation took place. Mickey, 72, has been embroiled in several controversies - including one incident of alleged homophobia that resulted in an official caution from Big Brother earlier this week.
On Wednesday, Mickey received a formal warning on the program after he suggested to JoJo Siwa that she would abandon her gay identity after spending time with him in the house, and then remarked to other contestants: "I'm going to vote the lesbian out real quick." He then told the other celebs he was desperate for "a fag" and, nodding at JoJo, joked: "I'm not talking to you." Chris Hughes quickly intervened to address Mickey's choice of words which resulted in Mickey being called into the diary room for an official reprimand.
It has also come to light that Mickey reportedly pleaded to quit the show mere hours before his eviction. In recently surfaced Celebrity Big Brother footage, the 72 year old Oscar-nominated actor is captured at the dining table enquiring Ella-Rae Wise and Angelica Bell about how nominations work. Ella-Rae swiftly left for the bedroom, avoiding a lengthy chat with the film star.
However, Angelica spent a short time clarifying the nomination process to him before joining Ella-Rae in the bedroom..
