ITV is rumoured to have secured US pop sensation JoJo Siwa for the eagerly awaited Celebrity Big Brother series. Originally known as Joelle Joanie, Siwa first caught the public's attention with her appearance on the fourth season of Lifetime Network’s Dance Moms back in 2015. The standout youngster, merely nine years old at the time, quickly became recognised for her boundless energy and brightly coloured trademark bows.

Now, aged 21, JoJo has carved out a niche for herself through her exuberant persona and quirky fashion sense, as well as her ventures into music. A source has divulged that ITV has snapped up the Instagram sensation, who boasts over 11 million followers, for their anticipated CBB line-up. "JoJo is a big name among the highly-coveted younger audience and brings with her a big US fan base," an insider revealed to The Sun.

"She's one of those names that regular ITV viewers might not know - but certainly will do by the end of the ITV series. Everyone is excited and hope to get the deal over the line." The entertainer made waves with her 2024 single 'Karma', shedding her characteristic 'childlike' aura for a striking grunge, punk rock aesthetic.

In April, 'Karma’ clinched the 76th spot on the UK Official Singles Chart, reports the Mirror. Amid her ongoing battle with online trolls who urge her to mature, the defiant JoJo has made it clear she has no immediate plans to abandon her playful spirit. In a recent TikTok video, JoJo Siwa addressed criticism about her signature style, stating: "Recently I've shown myself looking different, not the classic rainbow, sparkles, and a side ponytail with a JoJo bow.

I've been hated on for YEARS for dressing "Young" and acting "Childish". She emphasized that her occasional deviations from her iconic look didn't mean she was changing, but rather embracing her true self. She wrote: "People think this is me changing - NOPE! I just love who I am! this is just me at night or in the morning!'".

In an interview with Metro, the Karma singer further discussed her trademark aesthetic, saying: "I think as I grow older, my fans will also grow older but I don't think there's going to be a time when I'm like, 'I don't want to wear bows anymore, I've got to dress like an old person instead.'" She argued that wearing bows shouldn't have an age limit, comparing it to celebrating Halloween or wearing a hoodie. This comes after JoJo faced backlash earlier this year for a video she made during the LA wildfires, which some deemed "tone deaf".

In the now-deleted Instagram video, shared by her girlfriend Kath Ebbs, JoJo was seen packing expensive clothing in case she had to evacuate her home, sparking criticism from her social media followers. Kath shared a sequence of videos on social media, starting with: "Things my girlfriend packed in case of a fire evacuation." The footage showed JoJo selecting lavish and sparkling items, humorously remarking: "What else do you need?" Further explaining her choices, JoJo said: "I have all my legal documents.

I'm going to fill the car up with my favourite things." However, the posts sparked criticism from fans, with one commenting: "This is so tone deaf." Another added their voice to the disapproval, stating: "What about all the people who are losing their homes, family, pets and belongings? What about wildlife? Why post this?" Additional remarks from followers expressed concern for those less fortunate, saying: "We care about the people who don't have the money to rebuild their lives after the fires," and highlighting broader issues with "I think there are more important things to talk about.

" The upcoming Celebrity Big Brother is scheduled to premiere on April 7 on ITV1.
