Jack P. Shepherd and Patsy Palmer surprised fans in last night’s Celebrity Big Brother (Picture: ITV)Celebrity Big Brother viewers have been stunned to learn that new housemates Patsy Palmer and Jack P. Shepherd have never met before.
The soap stars, who are better known as their EastEnders and Coronation Street alter-egos Bianca Jackson and David Platt, entered the ITV reality show last night.If they manage to avoid nominations from their fellow contestants – and the subsequent public vote – they will spend the next three weeks under constant surveillance, competing in tasks to try and secure a luxury shopping budget.It’s a simple format, but one that’s worked for 25 years!The celebs living alongside them include 80s one-hit wonder Chesney Hawkes, gold medal winning Olympian Daley Thompson, presenter Trisha Goddard and Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke – who has already caused some controversy following his behaviour with Big Brother host AJ Odudu.
As the launch show kicked off, a number of the housemates were given special tasks to undertake in order to win points, which could then be spent in a prize room.Patsy has swapped the Square for the Big Brother house (Picture: Vianney Le Caer/Shutterstock)Prizes they can buy include immunity from eviction, and phone calls home.Fans are always on the look out for celebrities who already know each other in the ‘outside world’ – but it seemed that Patsy and Jack had never met before.
This is despite the numerous awards ceremonies that celebrate our soaps each year, and the glitzy events that the actors are often seen mixing at.Patsy was the first to enter, and when Jack was added later, they introduced themselves to one another.Viewers immediately took to social media to express their surprise, with one writing on X: ‘How has Jack Shepherd never met Patsy Palmer? #cbb’When Jack entered, it became clear that they’d never met before (Picture: Vianney Le Caer/Shutterstock)‘Jack and Patsy have never met ? That’s wild ! #CBB #soaplegends’ said another.
A third reckoned that the pair will form ‘a soap alliance in the house’.Referencing yesterday’s British Soap Awards nomination long list release, a fourth said: ‘Patsy Palmer seeing Jack P Shepherd enter the house knowing they’re both nominated for the same award.’Both actors are up for the Best Comedy Performance gong at the ceremony in May.

She last appeared regularly in 2014, but has made a number of lengthy returns since. Bianca is expected to exit alongside her on-screen sister Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) in the coming weeks.On his own entrance, Jack told AJ and co-host Will Best that he had asked best pal and Corrie co-star Colson Smith for advice.
