Celebrate Easter: Five things to do this weekend in Saskatoon, April 18-20

This Easter weekend is packed with a variety of events and activities for all ages. For sports fans, the 2025 Tony Cote First Nations Winter Games kick off with a Parade of Nations on Sunday evening at Prairieland Park. In other entertainment, here are a few arts events to check out: 1 — Laugh along with comedy performers Saskatoon Soaps Improv Comedy presents Wrasslin’ with Reality.

A cage match of comedy, highlighting how tough life is for the has-beens, wannabes and never-weres of pro wrestling. The troupe performs improv comedy based on audience suggestions Friday at the Broadway Theatre at 8 p.m.

Known for high energy and self-deprecating stories, Greenwood is touring with his latest album as he builds his debut stand-up comedy special. The show, for ages 19 and up, is Saturday at 9 p.m.

2 — Reminisce with polka music Polka Extravaganza with 1-800 Polka is the debut performance from Saskatoon’s newest polka supergroup. Inspired by past Prairie bands and featuring fiddle player Joseph Desjarlais and members of Gil & Wil, Checkout Queens, Sask. Steel and The Local Group, the band showcases accordion, guitar, clarinet, fiddle, drums, banjo and vocals.

The concert is Friday at 7 p.m. at Art Bar.

With competitions, races, trophies and vendors, the show runs Friday and Saturday at Prairieland Park. Funds raised at the event support SaskAbilities’ Camp Easter Seal. Learn more at draggins.

com . 4 — Hear classic country in a tribute show One Night with Conway featuring Gil Grand is a full-production, full-band presentation. Hear 25 of Conway Twitty’s biggest hits, including Hello Darlin’, Slow Hand and Linda on My Mind.

ca . 5 — Enjoy a creative play for all ages Wide Open Children’s Theatre presents Square, a playful, interactive show where nothing is what it seems. A simple cardboard box transforms into endless possibilities in a world of imagination, with puppeteers, inventors and audience participation.
