The 2025 ABS-CBN Ball, hosted at Solaire Resort North in Quezon City, was a star-studded affair that doubled as a fashion spectacle. But among the usual head-turners, two Cebuanas made their much-awaited ball debut — Kai Montinola and Rain Celmar — interpreting the theme “Spring Formal” in a way that had fans beaming with pride. Kai Montinola Trust that Kai’s glam team is always in sync with her energy and having just as much fun.
Long referred to by fans as a “living doll,” Kai fully leaned into that image for the ball. Styled by Jot Losa, the “Pinoy Big Brother” (PBB) Gen 11 fourth placer wore a gown that was nothing short of fantastical. Her look featured a structured, corset-style bodice in soft blush and white, evoking a dreamy, ethereal feel.
The voluminous skirt cascading in layers of plush fabric from pastel pink to fuchsia, she was blooming like a garden of hydrangeas in full glory. By the end of the night, even celebrated designer Rajo Laurel took notice. While hosting Metro’s live coverage, he expressed admiration for Kai’s look, saying he wanted to meet her and dress her himself.
She eventually landed on Metro’s coveted Best Dressed list — earning the #6 spot and cementing her status as one to watch. Rain Celmar Rain looked just as fresh as her name and her dress. Dressed in a bold Carl Arcusa creation, the “PBB Gen 11” first runner-up opted for a chartreuse gown that turned heads for its fearless twist on spring.
While most guests stuck to pastels, Rain dared to stand out. Her gown featured a structured, pleated bodice that flowed into a dramatic, tiered skirt made of gathered tulle tassels. Each layer resembled blooming buds or bursts of pollen, playful yet architectural.
The chartreuse hue, a cross between yellow and green, evoked the image of new leaves, sun-drenched fields and that first gasp of spring air. Fans were quick to point out that Rain was one of the night’s true favorites and they weren’t wrong. With delicate yet defined features and a quiet elegance, she carried the kind of Filipina beauty you’d proudly see on national TV.
Her stylist knew the color wasn’t an easy pull but Rain wore it effortlessly. Bold, unapologetic and full of life, she truly was like spring..
