New Delhi: The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the deadline for corporates to file their income tax returns (ITR) for Assessment Year (AY) 2024-25. As per the Ministry of Finance, companies now have until November 15, 2024, to submit their returns. The original deadline was set for October 31, 2024.
The extension applies to taxpayers covered under sub-section (1) of Section 139 of the Income-tax Act, 1961, according to the ministry’s official release. This announcement follows an earlier extension provided by the government for submitting tax audit reports. The deadline for filing the tax audit report was pushed to October 7, 2024, from the initial cutoff of September 30, 2024.
