Celebrity Big Brother's "loose cannon" Mickey Rourke had made waves for "homophobic slurs" and "leering" within just minutes of his arrival in the CBB house.

Celebrity Big Brother star Mickey Rourke had been branded a "loose cannon with no filter" for years after he reportedly pursued TV show opportunities in the UK for a decade, it has been alleged. A source has claimed that ITV bosses had received a warning before signing him over his unpredictable behaviour - and that they knew sparks could fly. It was claimed beforehand that he was "risky" and a "liability" - and he has certainly caused a stir, with his conservative upbringing in Southern USA clashing with modern personalities on the show, such as a lesbian with a non-binary partner and a drag queen.

A source published in the Sun has now elaborated: "Loads of people in the TV industry had meetings with Mickey going back as far as ten years ago, but each time it was decided he was too much of a liability to have on UK reality shows. He’s had zoom meetings and in person meetings in LA, but every time it didn’t work out as he’s such a loose cannon with no filter. "He was way too risky for a lot of people to take a chance on," the source continued.

"It was common knowledge in the industry and people would have warned ITV - nobody is surprised how he’s acting in the CBB house.” The BAFTA-winning actor, who is also a former Oscar nominee, was known as a " Hollywood heart-throb" in his day - but now the 72-year-old is being met with opposition. This week, Mickey announced he was going to "vote the lesbian out" as he needed "a s***" - but what he intended as a light-hearted joke went down like a lead balloon with some fans and contestants.

He also declared that he would "change" JoJo Siwa's sexuality within days, leaving her in tears. He was also called out by show host AJ Odudu for "leering" at her and making her feel uncomfortable , just minutes into his Big Brother debut. Meanwhile, he subsequently stood accused of tampering with cameras and removing his mic.

The sequence of events led to him receiving a formal warning from ITV, who threatened to remove him from the house if he continued, but he has since apologised - and the show goes on with Mickey as a contestant..
