It is alleged that 34 cattle worth N$250 000 was stolen at Divundu. This was confirmed in the weekend crime report by police spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi. The 34 cattle that were grazing at the time were allegedly stolen from Boretsa Village in the Kavango West region.
In the same area, eight cattle valued at N$70 000 were also allegedly stolen. No arrests or recoveries have been made yet and police investigations continue. “In Aranos town, it is alleged that the suspects stole two sheep from the grazing area and slaughtered them.
The sheep are valued at N$3 600. Only two heads were recovered,” Shikwambi says. Also in the crime report, two cases of rape were reported at Kuisebmund and Khorixas.
In a separate incident, Shikwambi says a case of concealment of birth was also reported. “It is alleged that a body of a female foetus was discovered in a skip bin wrapped in a yellow plastic bag by two people while searching for empty bottles and cans. No arrests have been made yet,” the spokesperson says.
