CATL-backed Avatr 11 facelift launched in China for 38,400 USD to boost sales Avatr 11 facelift has entered China with an EREV option and a starting price of 279,900 yuan (38,400 USD). The updated SUV coupe from Changan and CATL aims to boost the brand’s sales volume. Avatr was founded in 2018 as a joint venture between Changan and Nio.

Later, the world’s biggest battery maker, CATL, replaced Nio in this JV. Huawei became the key supplier for Avatr. The brand’s first model is the Avatr 11.

It entered the Chinese market in August 2022. Its cumulative sales have reached 30,403 units so far. To boost customers’ demand for this model, Avatr launched its facelift with the optional EREV powertrain.

The facelift got a redesigned front bumper. The Avatr 11’s dimensions are 4895/1970/1601 mm with a wheelbase of 2975 mm. The interior of the Avatr 11 remained the same with a triple-screen layout.

Instead, it acts like a generator, supplying energy to the battery and electric motors. The Avatr 11 EREV has a single e-motor in the rear axle for 231 kW (310 hp). It is powered by the CATL’s Freevoy LFP battery for 39 kWh, suitable for a 225 km range.

The entry-level Avatr 11 offers RWD for 237 kW (318 hp) with a zero-to-hundred acceleration time of 6.5 seconds. The top-trim car has a dual-motor 4WD with a combined power output of 402 kW (539 hp).

It speeds up to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The range of the Avatr 11 EV is 760 – 815 km (CLTC).
