Casualty reported in fire at three storey building

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to a fire at a property in Canterbury Drive, in Brighton, today at 11pm.

One casualty was reported in a fire at a three storey building. Firefighters were called to a fire at a property in Canterbury Drive, in Brighton, last night (Saturday, April 12) at 11pm. Six appliances attended the scene and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used four hose reel jets, as well as firefighting foam, to tackle the fire at the three-storey building.

Police and ambulance were also in attendance. Locals were advised to close all doors and windows and to avoid the area to allow emergency services to deal with the situation. One casualty was reported and left in the care of paramedics.



Fire crews left the scene at 8.40am with police remaining. A fire investigation will follow.
