We’re always pretty quick to complain about road hold-ups but as this photo demonstrates, it’s nothing new. Congestion on the East Lancs Road, 1968 (Picture: Newsquest) Taken in June 1968 it shows traffic at a standstill on the East Lancs Road at the Walkden junction. Frustrating as the queue must have been, it gives us a great look at some classic old cars of the era.
