Palmetto Carriage Works recently announced a heartwarming opportunity to spread holiday cheer while giving back to the community. On Dec. 1, 2024, the Charleston-based carriage company will offer free carriage rides to visitors and locals who donate an unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots program.

Free tours are given on a first come, first served basis. The event will take place from 9 a.m.

to 4 p.m. at Palmetto Carriage Works, located at 8 Guignard Street, in Charleston.

Participants can experience the magic of Charleston’s Historic District during a festive, horse-drawn carriage ride while making a difference in the lives of children in need. “Toys for Tots has been bringing smiles to children’s faces for decades, and we’re honored to partner with them this holiday season,” said Tommy Doyle, General Manager of Palmetto Carriage Works. “We’re excited to welcome the community to enjoy a carriage ride with us and help brighten the holidays for kids in our area.

” Guests are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys suitable for children of all ages. These donations will be collected and distributed to families in the Charleston area through the Toys for Tots program, ensuring every child gets to experience the joy of the season. This special event is part of Palmetto Carriage Works’ ongoing commitment to giving back to the Charleston community.
