Carqon the next cargo bike manufacturer to start recalling models over safety issues

Cargo bike manufacturer Carqon is recalling several models of cargo bikes due to a possible safety issue.

Cargo bike manufacturer Carqon is recalling several models of cargo bikes due to a possible safety issue. Intensive use could cause the bolts in the steerer tube to come loose, the company said. In exceptional cases, the steerer tube could break.

Carqon asked all users of its Classic, Cruise, and Flatbed models to immediately stop using their cargo bikes until they have undergone inspection. During the inspection, the bolts and steerer tube will be checked and replaced, if necessary. Customers can check to see if their bikes fall under the recall.



Carqon falls under the , which also owns cargo bike manufacturer Babboe. Earlier this year, Babboe when it turned out their frame could break in half. The NVWA until the issue had been fixed.
