This Christmas, Border charity Carevan is focused on providing the most basic human need: a full belly. or signup to continue reading Director Jacqui Partington said the charity would begin to prepare hundreds of hampers for struggling families over the coming weeks. The Christmas food appeal was launched on Friday, November 15, at Wodonga Plaza to support those who were struggling.
"We've seen the impact with the cost-of-living and it doesn't discriminate anymore," she said. "We're seeing lots of people come to us who can't make ends meet. "Some are everyday people.
"To be able to do an appeal such as this, it helps give those people a meal for the festive season, or maybe a gift for their children." said Christmas was a time of giving. "We want to give people a sense of belonging, an identity," he said.
"And we do it because we genuinely care." Dr Brabant said the organisation had been running for the past 14 years and remained so important. "We try our best to serve the community, whether it's through our Sun Smile program, , meal, or lunch service.
"We don't want anyone to miss out," he said. Ms Partington said "There's a collection point outside of Target and Coles in Wodonga Plaza," she said. "Until the end of January, because it's not .
