A care home's fundraising event raised £200 for a charity

Austen House, in Reading, hosted a charity car wash to support Barchester’s Charitable Foundation. This foundation aids older people and adults with disabilities or mental health issues by providing grants to help them connect with their local communities. Simona Cioinac, the senior general manager at Austen House, said: "We love to fundraise for charities throughout the year.

"We pick different causes to support that have been selected by staff, residents, and friends of the home. "Barchester’s Charitable Foundation is a great cause that helps many people in need and is also a cause very close to the hearts of all our staff and residents, so we feel really proud to have been able to raise this money. "Thank you to everyone who donated.
