Voters struck down a measure to renovate the existing recreation center and to build a new outdoor aquatic facility and an activity center in Carbon Valley by 61.4% out of 12,903 votes, as of 7:30 p.m.
on Tuesday. Issue 6C asks Carbon Valley Parks and Recreation District voters to approve a plan to raise taxes by $5.9 million annually for 30 years for the amenities.
The renovation of the existing community recreation center would add a gymnasium, an outdoor turf field, an expanded weight and cardio area, a youth room and an expanded maintenance facility.
