A car has crashed into a hospital building in Devon leaving three people injured as emergency services rush to the scene. The vehicle collided with a temporary building at Torbay Hospital in Torquay, Devon this morning. Two people were trapped under a car in the hospital car park.
Three people have sustained injuries, a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said. Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "We received a call at 10.47am today reporting that a vehicle had collided with a cabin at Torbay Hospital, Torquay and there were reports of people trapped.
Four crews from Torquay and Paignton fire stations were dispatched. "On arrival the driver was already free and clear but two people were trapped under the car. Crews have lifted the vehicle and both casualties are now clear and being assessed by the ambulance service.
Crews are still in attendance to assist partners and to ensure the scene is safe." The hospital remains open, according to police. This is a breaking news story.
