The incident occurred on the M62 yesterday, Tuesday, near to junction seven for Rainhill Stoops. Officers from Merseyside Police attended the scene of the crash and arrested the driver of a white Mercedes. Officers reported that a roadside breath test produced a reading of 56 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

The driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, with the legal limit being 35 microgrammes. The force’s roads policing unit said: “This vehicle was involved in a collision on the M62, resulting in it leaving the carriageway. “The driver provided a positive sample of breath at the roadside and was arrested.



They blew 56 in custody, with the limit being 35.”.
