Canton Lenten services continue the countdown to Easter

The Rev. Esta Jarrett, pastor of Canton Presbyterian Church, will preach at the Canton Lenten service at noon Thursday, March 27, at Canton First United Methodist Church. The churches of the Canton area come together to hold weekly worship services every Thursday during Lent, during the 40 days before Easter, a tradition now in its 35th year.

Although she was born and raised in Virginia, The Rev. Ms. Jarrett has deep family roots in the mountains of Western North Carolina.



A graduate of the University of Virginia, she also earned degrees in Divinity, Theology and Christian Education from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond. In addition to pastoring, she loves live music, minor league baseball, poetry and storytelling. The 30 minute service begins at noon and will be followed by a light luncheon.
