Canton boys join girls team by punching ticket to La Plata Tournament title game

LA PLATA, Mo. -- The Canton boys basketball team defeated the Northeast Missouri Knights 69-52 in the La Plata Tournament semifinals on Friday night. Canton boys join the girls team by advancing to Saturday's La Plata Tournament championship game.

Tigers senior Preston Brewer scored a team-high 29 points, while Tyler Frazier added 12 points and Chris Alspaw racked up nine points. Canton (17-4) will face Green City (19-0) in the La Plata boys basketball tournament championship game at 7:30 p.m.

Canton will face the North Missouri Knights in the La Plata girls basketball tournament championship game at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
