Can’t find collector’s cups at McDonald’s? Try eBay

The chain's Collector's Meals, featuring nostalgic cups, went on sale a week ago and now appear to be unavailable throughout Southern California.

Collectors appear to have snapped up McDonald’s collector’s cups within a week. A spot check of restaurants throughout Southern California on the McDonald’s app shows its Collector’s Meal to be “currently unavailable” at several locations throughout Southern California, while in-store kiosks call them “out of stock.” Related links McDonald’s introduced the nostalgic cups on Tuesday, Aug.

13. The only way to get them was by buying one of three Collector’s Meals, which included Big Macs, Chicken McNuggets or a Sausage McMuffin with Egg sandwich. Meanwhile, the New York Post and USA Today reported that sets of the cups are being offered for hundreds or even thousands of dollars on e-commerce websites like eBay .



Social media users on sites such as Reddit have weighed in with comments like, “They went super fast.” Some people say they are sold out nationwide, while others expect them to be restocked. McDonald’s is currently still promoting the Collector’s Meals on its website.

The 16-ounce cups are made of plastic and emblazoned with one of six designs celebrating McDonald’s promotions throughout eras. Themes include Barbie, Coca-Cola and Universal Studios. Information: mcdonalds.
