Cane Bay teams third in Cobra Invitational

Cane Bay High School hosted the annual Cobra Invitational cross country meet Saturday, Sept. 21, with a group of 12 teams and 122 runners competing.

Cane Bay High School hosted the annual Cobra Invitational cross country meet Saturday, Sept. 21, with a group of 12 teams and 122 runners competing. Summerville High School’s girls and boys took home the team titles, paced by boys winner David Greer with a time of 16:35.

95 and girls runner-up Taylor Blackwelder. Porter-Gaud’s Morgan Howell won the girls race with a time of 19:51.65.



Ashley Ridge’s boys and Porter-Gaud’s girls were runners-up. Each squad placed three runners inside the top nine. Behind Greer, four Summerville teammates finished inside the top 10.

Blackwelder was followed in order by four fellow Green Wave runners. The host program placed third in both races. Jackson Novak and Jax Kelly placed fourth and sixth for the Cobras boys.

Amelia Santos and Zelia Shook finished eighth and 11th for the Cobras girls. Faith Christian’s Ali Seaver placed 13th as an individual..
