In the Dallas Cowboys 44-19 loss to the New Orleans Saints, while the headline is the score, and the overriding thought was Mike Zimmer's defense not stopping the run and Mike McCarthy's offense not scoring enough if we delve a little deeper, Dak Prescott and Co. did some good things. Yes, scoring 19 points isn't ideal, but against what could be considered a stout Saints defense, Dak moved the ball up and down the field at will in the first half.

Unlike the Saints offense, which scored touchdowns, Prescott only managed field goals. © Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports For right guard Zack Martin, one area needs quick improvement for the offense as they host Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3. “We got to do a better job of finishing drives,” Martin said.

“We had a lot of drives with a lot of plays, and we've got to do a better job of punching in the end zone and taking control of that line of scrimmage. Taking some pressure off everyone else, so we got to do a better job controlling the line.” Martin isn't wrong.

The Cowboys' first two offensive drives were 16 and 15 plays, both ending in field goals. Dallas then had two other drives, one of 12 plays and another of 10, ending in a field goal and turnover on downs. So there were chances to cash in; Dallas just didn't do it.

Possibly, but the Cowboys' red zone issues were hanging around last year until they fixed it. Now, against a Ravens team that hasn't won this season, touchdowns are the only thing on the menu for McCarthy's offense, with the ability to "finish drives" being the deciding factor in who wins and loses this game.
