Cameron Mathison had the most wonderful time of the year working with Candace Cameron Bure . The General Hospital star teamed up with the Full House alum on Great American Family's upcoming holiday film Home Sweet Christmas . While Cameron has known Candace for a long time—having both been in what he described as the "Christmas movie world for decades" —the actor was admittedly amused by his costar's quick wit when they finally got together on set.
"She's so funny," Cameron shared in an exclusive interview with E! News. "She's got a really, really, really great sense of humor. She's laughing and cracking up all the time, never misses a beat to make fun of me in a playful way.
" He continued with a smile, "She's just a riot. We had such a good time laughing—and I say that also acknowledging I was the butt of all the jokes." In fact, the 55-year-old was pleasantly surprised by how Candance—who is also the chief content officer for the Great American Family network —always made time for fun despite her busy schedule.
"She's juggling 18 jobs at any one given time," Cameron noted, "but apparently I was her muse for comedy." And the irony of filming Christmas scenes during summertime is already the perfect set-up for laughs, according the actor. "It could be 120 degrees out and you're wearing a ski jacket and scarf," he joked.
"You're sweating like a madman. You've got ice packs under your jacket." Still, Cameron couldn't help but to get into the holiday spirit once he saw all the decorations on set.
As he put it, "You get to really experience Christmas whenever you're shooting." That's why he's excited for fans to experience the Great American Family Christmas Festival, an immersive Christmas experience featuring appearances from holiday movie stars—including himself and Candace—as well as ice-skating and tree-lighting. "We're going to try to capture the Christmas movie magic," Cameron added.
"And then every once in a while, you might see one of your favorite Christmas movie stars." The Great American Family Christmas Festival runs from Nov. 11 to Dec.
