Argus Camera Club snapper Graham Dale has captured the start of spring in Brighton's Saltdean. Graham took a handful of photos of the cliffs and the surrounds, while out on a sunny walk. As spring arrives with its signature burst of colour, daffodils can be found blooming on the cliffs.
The nearby Art-Deco Lido can be seen in all its glory shining in the sun. The flowers are a symbol of Spring. (Image: GRAHAM DALE) Daffodils on the cliffs.

For members of the Argus Camera Club, this annual display is an opportunity to practice their craft, experiment with new techniques, and celebrate the beauty of nature. The cliffs in Saltdean are part of the larger chalk downland landscape that stretches across much of the South Downs.
These white chalk cliffs, also known as the South Downs escarpment, were formed over 60 million years ago during the Cretaceous period. Saltdean cliffs are part of the coastline between Brighton and Newhaven, featuring chalk cliffs, shingle beaches, and a promenade known as the Undercliff Walk, which is a popular path for pedestrians and cyclists. (Image: GRAHAM DALE) Cliff walkers can expect warm weather in the next few days, which makes for great conditions for spotting plants and animals.

Newby. Its distinctive Art Deco design, with clean lines, geometric shapes, and elegant curves, makes it a standout architectural gem. Saltdean Lido just opposite is is an Art Deco lido designed by architect R.
W.H. Jones.
