Call of Duty giveth, and Call of Duty taketh away - and while is off to an explosive start, the game's Rebirth Island map has been pulled. The map, which fans have been desperate to drop into over the last few weeks since Black Ops 6 launched with its , was dropped into the Warzone playlist before being extracted pretty quickly. The reasoning is due to a "map-specific issue", but no further information was given by the official Call of Duty Updates account on X (formerly Twitter) other than other modes and maps aren't affected.
The quick turnaround has given the community a spot of whiplash, with one user joking "Take your time. We know it’s rough sometimes for small indie teams like yourself to test things before a launch." Another said "This is the worst launch of Warzone ever," but it's definitely been worse than this before.
After all, the game is still playable, Rebirth Island map or not, and Warzone 2.0's long-awaited arrival in 2022 was definitely rougher than this. The good news is that it should be back soon.
Given the map's popularity it's likely the developers are working on it already, and while we don't have an exact date for Rebirth's return, there's the new Nuketown-inspired Area 99 to keep us invested until it returns. To its credit, the team has already released a new set of , but there's currently no mention of Rebirth Island. In the meantime, don't forget you can use legacy XP tokens after .
