In a battle of the top two picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, Jayden Daniels come out on top against Caleb Williams. Washington topped Chicago, 18-15, in a Week 8 showdown at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland on Sunday afternoon. The Commanders topped the Bears on a last-second Hail Mary! pass from Daniels to wide receiver Noah Brown.
Daniels, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of LSU, scrambled around for what felt like an eternity, before tossing up a Hail Mary! pass that came up short of the end zone. But the ball was tipped and it went straight into the arms of Brown, who secured it for a game-winning score.
Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of USC, was visibly heartbroken. TW.
Video from TW on X, formerly known as Twitter, shows Williams reacting to Daniels' Hail Mary! pass on the sideline. Williams was visibly stunned before walking away in anger, appearing to yell at people on the sideline. Williams had a tough game, throwing for 131 yards on 10 of 24 passing.

Washington improved to 6-2 on the season with the win, while Chicago dropped to 4-3 on the season with the loss. This was likely the first of many matchups between Daniels and Williams.
