Less than a year after Caitlin Clark played her final game in an Iowa uniform, the university has ensured no one else will ever don her iconic No. 22. As the Hawkeyes women's basketball program gets used to life after Clark, they'll welcome her back into Carver-Hawkeye Arena for a jersey retirement ceremony to open the month of February.
Given the recency of Clark's collegiate successes, the timing of the announcement and ceremony both caught many off guard, though the decision to retire her famed numeral is far from a surprise. During her time at Iowa, Clark captivated the masses while breaking records and winning plenty of games.
