The duo were recognised for their impressive performance for the Nigerian champions. Odoma, a right-back, has caught the eye with her marauding runs and defensive ability.

Forward, Essien, has scored twice for Edo Queens in the competition. The young striker netted the debutant’s opening goal of the competition against Commercial Bank FC of Ethiopia and the equalising goal against holders Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-final. Edo Queens will be up against TP Mazembe of Democratic Republic of Congo in the semi-final on Tuesday (today).
