Bygones: Duluth kids found $5,000 in stolen jewelry in 1954

News-Tribune, Oct. 16, 1924 The Duluth League of Women Voters conducted a one-day informational session on how to cast a vote, political parties and government. It is the first of three such sessions scheduled in the city.

ADVERTISEMENT News-Tribune, Oct. 16, 1954 Two children found about $5,000 worth of jewelry stolen last month from the car of a Minneapolis salesman in Superior. Police were withholding the exact location of where the items were found, but said it was in the western outskirts of Duluth.



Overall, $35,000 worth of jewelry was stolen in the heist. News-Tribune & Herald, Oct. 16, 1984 Tom Martin, a graduate student in UMD's School of Social Development, is coming to the aid of homeless patrons of the First Street Drop-in Center who would like to register to vote.

The equipment came to the schools through a pyramid scheme run by the nonprofit National School Fitness Foundation and its for-profit partner, School Fitness Systems. Central and Denfeld's equipment will also be repossessed this week..
