BUTTE VALLEY — Jessy Maximin led the Butte College men’s basketball team in a come-from-behind effort in its 61-58 win against Sierra College 61-on Wednesday at Butte College. The Roadrunners trailed 34-23 at halftime, but outscored the Wolverines 38-24 in the second half. Maximin led the Roadrunners with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line.
The 6-foot-11, 230-pound sophomore added 20 rebounds (six offensive), as well as four blocks. Asa Arnold added 11 points, and Donnell Baden had eight points and 12 rebounds. Butte (2-2) plays at the Columbia College tournament this weekend.
The Roadrunners will face Merced at 4 p.m. Saturday, before facing Columbia at 3 p.
m. Sunday. The Roadrunners return home at 6 p.
m. Nov. 20 when they host Cosumnes River College.
