SHARLENE Mawdsley endured a “busy day” after having to make a “quick visit to the Chinese Embassy” to sort a visa issue. The sprinter confirmed she will be able to board her flight on Tuesday as planned after just about submitting a visa application in time.@sharlenem1She shared this shot from her Dublin hotel room[/caption]@sharlenem1Before laying out the slightly panicked travel headache she had to overcome[/caption]@sharlenem1The 26-year-old still fit in a training session[/caption]@sharlenem1And enjoyed colourful eggs-based meal for lunch[/caption]In an Instagram story, she explained: “A quick trip to the Chinese Embassy because I’m simply not organised lol.

“I can pick up my passport again on Tuesday (We fly on Tuesday).“Also shout-out to Phil Healy because without her the visa would simply not be complete.”The 400 metre specialist had only flown home to her native Tipperary last week having previously been on a training camp in Tenerife.

While back in the Premier County she turned from athlete to fan for the day as she roared her county on in their draw with Limerick at Semple Stadium.Mawdsley doesn’t get the chance to visit home as often anymore since uprooting and changing to a London-based training team in November.Between that and her frequent warm-weather training camps, it is a downside of the life of an elite athlete.

But on Easter Sunday she and every other Premier fan was treated to a quality (street) display as the clash lived up to its appetising build-up.Afterwards, however, Liam Cahill was adamant it didn’t show they’re back in the mix as All-Ireland contenders. He cancelled the hype train on the spot, but beamed with pride at their performance ahead of Sunday’s round 2 trip to Cork.

He said: “The one narrative we don’t want coming out of today is that Tipperary are back, because that’s ridiculous.“Anyone that knows the Tipperary landscape, hurling landscape properly, knows where this group of players are at and they just have to have a realisation.“It’s not an out for me or anything to that effect.

I understand what’s required here. I understand the currency here in Tipperary will always be silverware.“But the timing of this is just different and we have a lot of work to do.

@phil_healyBy the sounds of it, fellow Olympics star Phil Healy is better at keeping across all of their travel requirements[/caption]“Today is a stepping stone. I’m really, really proud of these fellas, they’re representing the jersey really well and have shown massive bravery from last October.“This time last year when we left the same dressing room, things were fairly poor, we were on the ground.

“Bravery is all about making tough decisions, and there were tough decisions made with players around the preparation and ourselves as a coaching a management team.“There’s so much youth in that room, so much experience that’s going to have to be replaced at a later stage.“God knows, hopefully, maybe not next year, but they’re not going to stay around forever.

“But all in all, I’m very proud of my players and really delighted to be the one helping them at the moment, with the honesty that’s in that dressing room.”.
