A BREWERY and bar stepped up to ensure a community beer festival kept its taps flowing.

Launched in 2008, Newton Beer Festival is a hugely popular annual event that brings the community together over the love of real ale, beer, and cider. Supported by local businesses and organised by Newton-le-Willows Rotary Club, the three-day event also hosts live music and activities while raising funds to be directed to good causes across the community. However, on the eve of this year's festival, the beer festival's marquee was slashed and damaged at Newton Sports Club for the second year running, with some beer lost as a result.

Many residents were looking forward to this weekend's festival and were understandably shocked by the reports. Organisers admitted they were working on contingency plans and a Warrington brewery and Newton-le-Willows bar stepped up to the plate to ensure that the festival went ahead as planned.

Following the news of the damage, 4T's Brewery, a real ale supplier based in Warrington, and The Firkin, a real ale and craft beer bar in Newton-le-Willows, "pulled the strings" and "delivered beer without hesitation" to make sure that the beer taps continued to flow yesterday. "A massive, frothy THANK YOU to 4T's Brewery and The Firkin — you went above and beyond to help us out yesterday when we needed it most.

"From pulling strings to delivering beer and backing us without hesitation, you kept the taps flowing and the festival alive. Without you, this weekend wouldn't be happening. "We’ll say it loud — you’re the heroes of Newton Beer Fest 2025! "Next time you’re at the bar, raise a glass to these absolute stars.

They’ve earned it." Taking place until Saturday, April 5, more information about Newton Beer Festival can be found here..
