Owner Molly Cook and her team at The Hair Extension Cave have overcome the Covid pandemic, high inflation and several location changes to build a community to be proud of – and they will celebrate the milestone by throwing a party next month. The multi-award-winning business specialises in hair extensions but offers a host of services over its three floors on Silver Street, next to the Poultry Cross . Molly, 30, previously took the business to premises on Brown Street and then Fisherton Street, but those were soon ‘outgrown’ by the cave.

The move to Silver Street, which took place in April 2022, was also met with a party. Visitors to Salisbury Charter Market may have spotted this on Saturday afternoon (Image: Molly Cook) On Saturday (October 19), passers-by would have seen balloons spelling ‘10 years’ being held from the second and third-floor windows to mark the decade. Molly said: “It doesn’t feel real.

It’s gone really fast, but really slow at the same time! “It feels amazing. I think it’s a pivotal point in a business to get to 10 years, and it takes a lot.” The celebratory party will be held from 7pm on November 23, which “everyone is welcome to”.

“We will be having bands, music, entertainment, a bar, food, dances – everything,” said Molly. “We’ll turn all three floors into a party. The last one for our launch night, which was two years ago, was great.

There are baby changing facilities and the ground floor is fully wheelchair accessible, and mothers are welcome to bring their children with them to hair appointments. The cave also works to help people who are undergoing chemotherapy by providing free wigs and aftercare products to help “make their situation better”.

“It was amazing in Fisherton Street, but it was very small,” Molly explained. “Here, we’ve got the city centre location with what I would say is the best view in town. “We’ve managed to add more members to the team, which is amazing, and we’ve made it into a community of staff and customers and a safe space.

” Molly says the business enjoys the “best view in town” (Image: Newsquest) The move also allowed the business to expand. There are now four members of staff employed in Molly's studio and six self-employed people renting space upstairs. This means clients can access hair extensions, manicures and pedicures, facials, hair loss injections, laser hair removal and mesotherapy, all under one roof.

There is even a PR company using an office space on the third floor. Molly said: “I know what it’s like to start from nothing, and we have been able to create a bit of a business hub here. “My staff are gems.

They are what make the business work. I couldn’t do it by myself. “Without Abbey, Adam and my partner Liam, it wouldn’t be possible.

“And we all wouldn’t be able to be here with without our customers. They keep our business going. We are so grateful, and we love every one of them.

“I want to thank Salisbury as a community for helping us be where we are and for being so accepting and supportive.” To reserve your place at the party, visit www.eventbrite.
