Hambro expands to six spots in Humboldt, Del Norte Hambro Recycling is expanding its services to Humboldt County, providing residents with a convenient way to recycle aluminum, glass, and plastic bottles. The expansion to Eureka aims to improve recycling accessibility and encourage responsible waste disposal across the region. Currently operating in six locations in Del Norte and Humboldt counties, Hambro Recycling specializes in California Redemption Value beverage container recycling.

Customers bring eligible containers to designated drop-off locations, where they can receive cash refunds as part of the state’s bottle deposit program. With the new Humboldt County expansion, more residents will have the opportunity to participate in this initiative, reducing landfill waste while earning back their deposits. “We’re excited to offer Humboldt County residents a reliable way to recycle their beverage containers,” said Randy Scoot, GM.

“Our goal is to make recycling more convenient while also supporting California’s efforts to reduce waste and promote sustainability.” Hambro Recycling directly ships collected beverage containers to processing facilities, ensuring they are properly recycled into new products. This closed-loop system helps conserve resources and reduces the environmental impact of waste.

The expansion adds a new drop-off location, Eureka, where customers can bring their CRV-eligible containers for redemption. Hambro Recycling is also working to streamline the recycling process, ensuring that customers have an efficient and hassle-free experience. “Every bottle and can that gets recycled helps reduce pollution and conserve resources,” said Kurtis Shaul.

“Having more recycling options available in Humboldt County is a step in the right direction.” Learn more at https://www.hambrocrvbuyback.

Green Diamond announces exec changes Douglas Reed, president of Seattle-based Green Diamond Resource Company, recently announced the retirement of Galen Schuler, a vice president for the company. Deputy General Counsel Kristen Karabensh filled Schuler’s role April 5. “It’s hard to believe it has been more than 20 years since Galen accepted the role as our top legal counsel.

In those years, he guided Green Diamond into a future that includes multi-decade habitat conservation plans and wise forest management practices that benefit our employees, the environment and the multiple users of our lands across the company’s expansive portfolio,” Reed said in a prepared statement. “As a sixth-generation, family-owned business, we remain focused on succession of roles to ensure our legacy of safety, sustainability and partnerships is continued for generations to come. Kristen represents the forward-looking staffing legacy we have worked toward.

I have great confidence in her ability to lead the legal department despite having big shoes to fill with Galen’s departure,” he continued. Business briefs runs on a regular basis in the Sunday Business section. Submit news about your local business to editor@times-standard.
