Ludhiana: Dehlon police on Sunday arrested a PRTC bus driver for hitting a scooterist and escaping. The victim died in hospital, after which police filed a case. The arrested accused is Amreek Singh of Dhilwan village, Samrala.

A case was filed against him on the statement of Harwinder Singh of Dehlon village, brother of the victim, Gurjeet Singh. Harwinder Singh said that he and his brother were going home on their respective scooters on Saturday evening when a speeding PRTC bus hit his brother’s scooter near Dehlon. The bus driver escaped while the complainant rushed his brother to Dehlon civil hospital.



Dehlon police have registered a case under sections 281 (rash driving), 106 (causing death by negligence) and 324 (4) (mischief causing damage) of BNS.
