And his debut job certainly got the ball rolling in his film and television career, as he has already nabbed a string of roles in huge Hollywood blockbusters. Ioane appeared on the big screen along the likes of Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in 2024 action epic The Fall Guy, taking on the minor role of Birdie the PA in the Sydney-based film.

The Samoan-Australian actor then went on to sign up to portray Damo in Rebel Wilson 's directorial debut The Deb, which was filmed in Carcoar, New South Wales . As his five-season long tenure on Bump comes to an end, Ioane has reflected on the difference between working on the local Aussie show compared with the two huge Hollywood projects. 'I feel at home on Bump, I feel like I can make my own choices on Bump and I'm still learning,' he told Daily Mail Australia.

it's different. I feel like I started Bump as a sponge and now I'm a soggy sponge! 'On the other things outside of Bump, I'm a sponge again but when I come here, my shoes are off - even my socks are off - feet on the dining table, I'm comfortable! 'The crew is the same every season so it's like coming home, I can make my own choices. 'I can be silly, the director can tell me not to do that, I can try and do it again, but I'm learning to transfer that confidence [into other things].

' Despite breaking into Hollywood, Ioane has no plans to move to the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles and would like to stay living in Australia while taking on jobs overseas. He went on to explain how Bump has served as his version of drama school and provided him with the skills he needs to pursue a fulltime acting career. 'Bump has been my training ground for acting in general and informed the type of actor that I am and the type of person that I am now,' he continued.

'Bump was my first time acting on camera and I said it before but it kind of felt like it was a school where I studied acting and now with season five, it feels like I'm graduating.' 'A lot of people have reached out after Bump wanting to be an actor and appreciating what I've done and my input in the show and on screen,' he shared.

'I'm scared, we're going to have to really work now and get those auditions in!' Ioane joined the cast of Bump while he was still at school and filmed alongside completing his year 12 studies back in 2020. He hadn't planned to pursue acting as a career when he started taking drama at school, in fact, he had only picked the subject as a 'bludge'. 'I picked music and drama.

..and I picked those subjects just for a bludge.

I was one of those kids who wanted to have fun, everyday,' he previously told Pacific Beat. 'My drama teacher was new to school, I guess she saw more in me than I saw in myself and she encouraged me to do more performing.' His dream had to become a professional rugby player but when injuries halted his plans, he then turned to acting and discovered his passion for it.

I thought nothing was going to happen to myself,' he said. 'I feel it's a good path to follow, it's a tough path to follow but it's good,' he added of his acting career.

Ioane is returning for one final stint as Vince in Bump for the fifth and final series, which is set to premiere on Stan on Boxing Day. The final season will see Oly's mother Angie (Claudia Karvan) continue to battle cancer while Oly (Nathalie Morris) comes to terms with her second pregnancy. The brand new season of the Stan Original Series Bump will premiere on Boxing Day, all episodes at once.
