Bullet-injured Fahim sent to Thailand at govt cost

Fahim Hasan, who sustained bullet injuries during the recent student-led mass upsurge, and his parents have been sent to Thailand for better treatment at the cost of the government.Under the direct supervision of Health and Family Welfare Adviser Nurjahan Begum, critically injured Fahim and his parents (as attendants) were sent to Vejthani Hospital in Bangkok of Thailand, said a media release signed by Mohammad Shahadat Hossain, senior information officer of the ministry on Wednesday.A one-time financial assistance of Tk 800,000 has been provided from the Anti-Discrimination Welfare Fund to cover their meals, accommodation, internal travel, and medical expenses, it reads.Moreover,

A US-based service foundation was contacted for treatment of those suffering from eye injuries and currently receiving treatment in various hospitals. They will soon be sending a team of specialists to Bangladesh for further assistance.
